If my friends were asked to describe me they would say I am shy and quiet, but I do come out of my shell once I get to know the person.

... a thirtysomething northerner came back to OKCupid to revamp his profile. It was getting a bit old and worn out, after all. The trouble he found was making it different enough to stand out from the crowd, without also going too far and making it quite bizarre and possibly making him seem rather odd. Then he realised that that was simply a part of his own nature, so what the heck!

I was going to write this in poetry, possibly haiku, or some kind of ballad, but then I figured that would be just a bit too much effort ... That sentence alone is probably the best self-summary anyone could come up with. Meh.

I'm INTP. Again, that pretty much sums me up pretty accurately and succinctly. This should come as no suprise once you get to know me!! I'm an analyst not a manager. I do data, i don't do people. :p This includes dating, by the way, a facet of life that I've never been particularly good at, so I tend to avoid it wherever possible ... easy-going kinky intellectual dorky barefoot girlfriends don't turn up very often :p

... I also tend to think things in a logical and theoretical way. Generally however, people don't work logically. This generally doesn't help ...

Lest you think I'm a dour and self-critical individual ... hold on, who on Earth uses words like 'lest' these days?! Hmm. foot, meet mouth. Yum!. Anyway. Hmmm I wonder what impression this is giving? Someone who's trying too hard to be different ... ?
I'm pretty nerdish, intelligent, not your average sort of jack-in-the-box ... i'm not even called Jack ... have a bit of a fetish for chocolate and mint, I eat pickled chilis out of the jar, i don't like orange (the fruit!) or coconut ... I'm an introvert who has done karaokes while sober, and tend to go away on foreign holidays with the minimum of notice. These holidays mainly involve overnight trains and cheap hotels in far-flung places. And every time I go somewhere, people don't expect me to come back ... I kind of like it that way :D

Oh, and I start to melt at anything over 23 degrees C. I am a cold weather animal. :)

... at this point I had a large list of interests copied over from my Livejournal. However I've since changed that list quite a bit. And besides I thought having them all here was 'a bit *too* much'. So you'll just have to guess what they were. Bonus marks for getting them correct :p

Well, what can I say about myself other than the fact that I'm not you're average sort of guy. I'm a mix and match, a bit of a throw together of random things that don't normally fit. Heres why...

I am, for lack of a better term, a geek. Have been for a long time and don't plan on changing anytime soon. Triathlon. I have been training for nearly a year now and this year will be my first season that I race :) My first race is already booked and will be the Lincoln triathlon, but I'm hoping to do the Southwell triathlon as well depending on when my exams take place!

I DON'T like football, never have. I'd much sooner watch any form of athletics. Can't beat a bit of MotoGP every now and then. I'm also not a big drinker, I especially don't get "wasted" anymore due to bad experiences in the past.. :P Would much sooner sit in a pub.

Hi, I live in a crappy little town called Mansfield a few miles north of Nottingham. It's not the greatest place in the world but it will do for the time being.

I spend a lot of my free time watching DVDs, I can get quiet obsessive from time to time and have been known to watch an entire series of X Files in one day. The way I think is that, the sooner I get through it, the sooner I can get on with other things! I also have a dream of one day writing a book and getting it published so I spend a bit of time writing as well.

I also listen to a lot of music and now for the last year have had my entire CD collection on an iPod and it is quite scary knowing how much I listen to some songs! The number one played track is a song called The Majority by band called Mammal (if you haven't heard of them, I strongly recommend you check them out) clocking in at 67 plays at the last check. It may not seem a lot to some people but when you consider that it is one song out of just over 7000, it's quite a few plays.

I like piercing and tattoos and have several of both. To be a bit more precise it is actually seven of both. I can promise you that none the tattoos consist of the words 'mum' or 'dad' or any name. This is actually a little pet hate of mine and instead I've gone for more classy things such as a rocket ship, a sprinkle genie and a scene based on Red Dwarf to name a few.

Freinds say I have a good sense of humor, I'm a little quiet and shy at first..but aren't we all? I have a respectable career that I enjoy, life is good but as I am alone and new in this place, I am looking for someone to share and hang around as it would be much better!

I believe that people are fundamentally good at heart. Someday I would like to scuba dive, sail and sky dive.

Well where shall I start. Firstly I hate writing things like this because it never gives a true picture of the person you actually are but hey ho, here goes. I'd consider myself to be a fun loving, outgoing person, I am incredibly compassionate and I can't stand pretentious people, I love going out with friends and family and just basically having a great time. I mainly love mainstream pop and indie, but also love r n b, indie, soft rock, 90s rock, 80s generally, and i love love love musicals inc Les Mis and Wicked. I try to go to London twice a year to see musicals. I also went to New York and saw many on Broadway.

I have been told I am very good at making people laugh - usually through my stupid actions or questions lol. Once I thought I could see the sea - in Leeds. LOL. geography is NOT my strong point.

Hi my name is keith and i not sure what to really put here. I do like to go out to bars n clubs etc when i have the money. I really love my music and listen to a wide selection of stuff. I also have an xbox and do play a bit but i at the moment i just got a bit pissed off with it. I do like talking and meeting new people as it is fun to find out about people and just to spend time with people etc. Either on here or on the xbox but nothing really beats going out.

I like to think of myself as pretty chill on near-enough every aspect of life, and I'd think most people I know would agree on that. I'm currently at university at Nottingham Trent doing Physics with Astrophysics. Do not let this put you off (though feel free to let it intrigue you/ pique your interest) as I really don't fit into the stereotype that follows such a course. I get on far, far better with my Fine Art flatmate than I do with anyone in any of my lectures. I'll admit, I can be quite geeky about certain things, but I am not one of those people who perpetually quotes entire Family Guy scenes in an effort to gain a chuckle or two. Nor am I a fan of Star Wars, which seems to be masturbation material for half of my coursemates.
I like what my course will lead to, but I don't enjoy my course, mainly because I'm pretty sure I don't actually like learning in the conventional sense. I'd rather be doing. Learning by doing. This is incredibly obvious to anyone that knows me, as I have very little motivation in education but when it comes to jobs I'm the most on the ball, go-get-'em guy about. Saying that, I'm currently unemplyed because I got masssively drunk behind the bar and made a giant tit of myself. Oops.

It's summer so I'm not learning, I'm unemplyed so I'm not earning, and I never think to save for a rainy day, so I'm skint. All I can do at the moment is bum around parks and other free areas, and hit the gym, in between looking for jobs..

In girls I like someone who is self-assured and knows their strengths. I find girls who know who they are very good company, but, just like lads, if they're overconfident and cocky, it's a big turn-off.

One of the first things I'll notice about someone, male or female, is their nose. This I inherited from my mum. Christ knows how or why. Nonetheless, a cute nose on a cute girl does it for me.
